Victoria is the legal guardian of her three grandchildren, Juan, 8, Antonio, 7, and Roxanne, 6. She was awarded custody in 2007 after 3 years of dealing with the courts and trying to keep the family together and the kids from entering into state custody. To this day she has still never received any child support from the children's mother.
Though it is a struggle for her to raise children again at her age, Victoria cherishes every moment she spends with the three kids. She spends most of her time caring for the children and taking care of the home. While they are in school, Victoria volunteers at Lafayette Elementary School, where her grandchildren go.
Victoria has struggled with dyslexia her whole life. She attends the Reason to Give workshops because she hopes to make a better future for herself and her family. She is very excited to learn how to use a computer and bring one home for her entire family to enjoy.
Victoria needs furniture for the home and mattresses for the kids. Currently the family is all sleeping in one bed because she doesn't have mattresses for the kids' room.
